central heating

My Vaillant central heating system is fairly new and works ok. No one including the installer knows why it makes a thump if turn on a hot water tap when the heating is on. There is no thump when the heating is off.

Air in the pipes is a common cause

    Dont worry, theres nothing wrong.
its only making a noise because of the water pressure varying as you turn on the tap. Try bleeding the radiators if its bugging you :)

Sounds like you have too high of water pressure entering the home. Any plumber has a gauge that can test the pressure. If it’s over 60 psi or so, you should consider installing a pressure regulator. Once your pressure is moderated, the thumping should go away.
