combi boiler

I am currently renovating my new 2 bed terrace and am having a new combi boiler and radiators etc installed.
Which make and model should I go for, someone told me a Gloworm 30cxi is pretty good, any advice?
Cheers.

  1. Is a thermostatic mixer shower or electric better for combi boiler sytem with low pressure?

I intended to fit a thermostatic mixer shower with my new combi boiler heating system. However, the plumber has advised me that the water pressure I have is so low that the water flow would be poor and that for a more enjoyable shower an electric shower would be better. Is this correct? I have sought advice from various plumbers who all give different advice. Please help....

  2. Help we have low water pressure and need a new boiler, we currently have a combi so no tanks any suggestions?

The combe boiler we currently have keeps going faulty, we have low mains water pressure and have been told a combi isn’t suitable. We have no water storage tanks. Anybody know what boiler type to recommend....

  3. Why does my combi boiler keeps losing pressure?

my combi boiler works fine at heating my water and filling radiators but every couple of weeks the pressure gauge goes down to 0 and i have to fill it up again. I can’t find leaks on the radiators ( also i live in an upstairs flat so i would have the women downstairs knocking if i did). I must admit i haven’t had the thing serviced for some time. also how much roughly does it cost to service a combi boiler?...

whatever size property you live you wont beat a Worcester boiler …as a builder its the only one i fit as its the most reliable and efficient ..Ive fitted one in our daughters house ..there one for every condition ..

Go for the best you can afford, Bosch (Worcester) is good,Vaillant are also good. Well any German boiler, the best.
Reliability is the most important thing.
Don’t be fooled into thinking a boiler is better because its 1% more energy efficient.
A broken boiler waiting for an expensive repair is useless.

Vaillant and Worcester are regarded as the better boilers at the moment.
If you get a Worcester accredited installer then you can get a five year warranty, if not you still get a two year warranty.
Just make sure it is a Corgi registered installer. Go on Corgi’s website and look for an engineer near you

from my experience any combi will at best “crap” and as no-one can tell which will last (i go out to 2year old combi’s that are needing major parts ) so go for the boiler that offers you the longest warranty parts and labour .the reason is if you look in most brands you would find the same components.and if live in a hard water area have a electronic descaler fitted also fit a magnaclean on the return pipe of your boiler this will collect most debris when the installer dosen’t flush the system properly.

Worcester Bosch and Vaillant are widely regarded as the best, the important thing for a long lasting installation, is that the system is cleaned properly and the water quality is right (should be less than ph 8).
