Warm houses have fresh gas central heating systems
Icy winds of wintertime curl through the trees and you huddle at your window, thinking of heating for your house – this season perhaps you should get yourself gas central heating. There’s nothing cosier than a warm room while a blizzard rages outside, and this warmth is best provided by a sturdy and efficient gas central heating system.
Central heating systems, which basically comprise of a set of radiators, heating boiler and pipework, can be segregated into two distinct classes, pumped systems and vented systems.
The most common out of these is probably the pumped system, these consist of a feed and expansion tank, the hot water tank works as the centre storage, and then heats the central heating radiators via the pipes. The expansion tank does allow for any water expansion that may occur.
The vented system on the other hand is a sealed system where there is no core heating. Water tanks are not required here because it is a closed system. It works well in colder countries like Norther Europe because the pipes are less likely to freeze up in this system, in addition to that there are less chances of leaking and there are no airlocks too.
So the question now is, why do we need gas central heating? Is it really necessary?.
Central heating is great in a way that it warms up your office and home at a lightening fast speed and the quality of the surrounding air doesn’t even get affected. Before the gas central heating system came into existence, other heaters like electric and storage heaters were used to keep the house warm or even coal fires. However, these were not ideal as they emitted an odour and affected the condition of the air, drying it out.
The central heating systems are free from all these drawbacks but they need regular maintenance to keep them operating reliably. Most people switch off their heating systems during summertimes and switch them on only during wintertimes, this should be totally avoided as the system could suddenly develop a problem as winter appears. Instead it is recommended that you gradually bring them into use during autumn so that if you spot any problem you can quickly contact an engineer.
Airborne dust and other contaminants can also seep into the central heating system, necessitating periodic drainage and cleansing. To flush the system, open the valve carefully and drain the collected water into a bucket, while ensuring that no further water gets into the heating system.
