The different configurations of gas Heating gas boilers available
Various types of Central Heating Systems are available in the heating market. A central heating boiler, heating radiator and pipework are common components in many of these Central Heating Systems, they are simple in plumbing terms.
In most parts of the UK air conditioning is hardly required because of the average temperatures of those regions. That is why in the United Kingdom most houses built these days are made with Central Heating Systems fully integrated into the home.
Heating is vital, especially as wintertime is fast approaching. While snowstorms rage on outside, you can be safe and warm on the inside. Your Gas Central Heating System must be fault free as much as possible and efficient to cut bills. It is essential to have peace of mind that your Central Heating System is not only practical to use but also safe.
Sealed and vented or pumped systems are the two leading types of Gas Central Heating Systems available.
The most commonly used systems are pumped/vented Central Heating systems. A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System has a feed and expansion tank. Your heating radiators are heated and your water is stored in a hot water tank. The expansion tank has adequate space to accommodate any water expansion that occurs due to heat. The tank is positioned at the point of maximum height, usually in the attic area to create water pressure. It serves a dual purpose by heating the house and also supplying heated water.
Older homes generally have pumped/vented Gas Central Heating systems.
A boiler system that is somewhat newer and more modern and that most people are choosing nowadays over the pumped/vented Gas Central Heating system is the sealed system. No water tanks are needed for a Sealed system as it is a completely closed setup saving space. In the absence of water tanks and pipework, the whole system is sealed and vented; here are some prominent benefits of such a system.
- Frozen loft pipes are no longer a problem.
- attic space is freed up and pipe maintenance is reduced.
- Reduces the risk of leaking.
- As there are no open vents, air cannot enter into the system and so the risk of corroding, airlocks and sludge is drastically cut.
- If necessary, the system can be flushed out under pressure using the main water supply.
A sealed Central Heating System is a packaged unit with all the necessary controls and safety devices. The water for the system is provided directly from the main water pipe of the house. The pressure of the main water supply benefits the hot water outlets and gives a healthy shower.
Normal variations of pressure can be allowed in a sealed system through a pressure vessel that contains compressed gas; this is separated from the sealed system water by a diaphragm. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.
Gas Central Heating Systems are worth the money as they are cheaper to run than any other form of heating. Moreover, they offer all kinds of control, which are normally not found in other heating systems giving you a more enjoyable environment.
