alternative energy

If so, what do you think is the best source of alternative energy?

It is for an energy assignment in science about alternative energy. You know the usual stuff solar power wind power all that stuff. what do you have to think about when you’re thinking about choosing an alternative energy source...

  2. What is the cheapest alternative energy to implement and how does it compare to existing conventional energy?

What are current energy prices of alternative and conventional techniques?...

What is the purpose of looking into alternative energy sources?...

  4. What are some new and potentially useful alternative energy sources?

I’m looking for something besides the usual fuel cells, solar collectors, photovoltaic cells, waste-to-energy, hydro-electric, etc. I think I read somewhere about harnessing body heat for energy. Anyone know anything about that or can give me some links on that or on other developing technologies for alternative sources of energy away from gasoline and natural gas? Wind mills is included in the “etc.”....

  • Yurem Shallcross says:

yes, we should start contemplating on using water or maybe something that we have more of on this earth…like trash. That would be real reusing and recycling.

  • Israel Dowdeswell says:

No, what energy source would we use. Solar is expenvise, wind is not egonh, and nulcear energy produces toxic waste.

  • Rebecca Crow says:

We should have started decades AGO. Some people think it’s already too late.

For one thing, finding anything that is capable of providing the same amount of energy as easily as petroleum … is doubtful at best.

Additionally, the only way we’re going to make these discoveries is if we make them BEFORE we run out of oil.

Remember, oil is not just for energy. Most everything we use is made by using oil … like plastics.

Best source: solar. We should all have solar cells on our roofs, provided by the federal government.

  • Jamar Neal says:

There are people looking for alternative sources like:
    Geothermal (heat and electricity)
    Fuel Cells (electricity)
Nuclear fission (steam, heat and electricity)
    Solar (Hot water and electricity)
    Wind (electric)
    Hydro (electric)
    fusion (electric)
    Hydrogen (electric and transportation)
    Biodiesel (transportation and electric)
    Wood (heat)

There is also the flip side that we need to practice conservation when at all possible. Drive smaller vehicles, live in smaller well insulated homes, turn off lights when not in use.
