- Combi Boiler Water Pressure Issues?
We recently had a combi boiler installed in our rented property. Initially the plumbers left the cold water feed from the tank in the loft so the combi boiler was only supplying the hot water. Unfortunately due to the differing pressures (i think), the cold water feed was excessive whilst using the shower the overflow pipe from the loft rained from the side of the house. The plumbers have since rectified that problem by removing the cold water tank and using the boiler to supply both the hot and cold. Unforunately the water pressure is now so low that it takes 30 mins to fill the bath. Also the shower now operates too hot and eventually (after a few mins) runs cold then hot again. Any help would be appreciated.... - Can i use a wood fire with back-boiler to heat my radiators in conjunction with my existing combi boiler?
I have a Potterton Combi 100 boiler which heats my hot water and central heating. I have a gas fire in a proper fireplace (ie with chimney) which i dont like. I was wondering if i was to convert it to a wood burning fire with a back boiler to heat my central heating would i need any modifications to the existing combi boiler / piping system? Thanks... - Can I use a combi boiler along with a pressurised hot water cylinder to minimise pipe run in the house?
I want to put the combi boiler in the basement and use the hot water side to feed the kitchen, utility room and downstairs shower room whilst siting the water cylinder next to the bathroom on the first floor to serve that room and a shower in the loft. Is this a sensible use of a combi or should I use a system boiler and just take hot water from the unvented cylinder?... - If you have a combi boiler is it useful to preheat the input water using a solar panel?
Solar panels sound like a good idea if you have a traditional boiler and water tank system, because you can store the solar heated water. BUT I would like to know if you can use a solar panel with a combi boiler? The type that only fires up, on demand when you turn on a tap? In effect you are preheating the mains water before it gors into the boiler. Is this wise? Safe? cost efficient?... - Help we have low water pressure and need a new boiler, we currently have a combi so no tanks any suggestions?
The combe boiler we currently have keeps going faulty, we have low mains water pressure and have been told a combi isn’t suitable. We have no water storage tanks. Anybody know what boiler type to recommend....

Modern boilers do not have pilot lights any more. They are all electronic ignition.
If you go to Baxi.co.uk and go to the installers section you can download the installation and maintenance instructions which has a fault finding guide near the back.
Your installer should have left a copy with you when it was installed.
If your’e not confident with this sort of thing then don’t attempt it – call an engineer.
The boiler you have is relatively new and providing you’ve had it serviced, should be ok.
Good luck!
Could be lots of reasons, but a common cause is the secondary heat exchanger blocked. If under warranty get Baxi people out to have a look.
Its time for a service….get an authorised service engineer to do the job…..much cheaper in the long run.
