combi boiler

i currently have a boiler in the kitchen and a tank in the airing cupboard…

i would like to have combi boiler installed – how easy is this and how much would it cost?

would i be able to have the combi boiler in place of the old one in the kitchen and have a shower installed where the airing cupboard is?

would i need new radiators?

We got one installed in July last year. So long as its an outside wall the boiler is going on then thats fine. You might not need radiators, we didnt but got the engineer to fit new valves to the existing ones.
      We paid £1800 and he did the job in 3 days and removed all the old tank etc;

We had a back boiler previous to this which he removed also

don’t know about the shower though, ask your plumber to give you a quote

ive just had a condensing combi boiler installed.
it will cost you about £2500-£3000 if you dont need new rads.
you may not be able to put it in place of your old boiler as you will need a new flude. so on an outside wall i would suggest having it put. if you have a single pipe rad all round then you will need new rads but if they are double then it should be ok.

You need to budget for about £1500 – I’ve just had one installed and the plumber did it in a day. I didnt have to have new radiators but the existing ones had to be flushed through. I think you need to have a combi boiler on an outside wall

depends on the quality of boiler you specify. I had a Vailant eco condensing boiler fitted in place of the old combi boiler last year and it cost £1850.

its very easy. The main cost is the boiler and the price depends on the power and quality.

dont go for the cheapest boiler as this is false economy.
get three quotes for the job from CORGI registered gas fitters
      - it has to be done by a qualified guy and let them work out what size you need boiler you need.

If the rads are fairly sound, you might consider getting them power flushed instead of replacing – it gets all the sediment out of them and makes them more efficient.

Yes a shower should fit into the old airing cupboard. discuss it with the people who quote you.

A decent boiler replacement just cost me £1250 all in, but it all depends on the complexity of the job

Depending on the quality of combi cost can be between £1500 and £2400.

You do not need new radiators.

You would need to get a plumber to look at your other requirements.

will start from £500 for basic model upto £1200 just for
boiler add another £500 for labour
but that depends on your requirements i.e how many rads
also you have to consider how old your present system is
      get a few quotes.
