(the radiators, I mean) Maybe the scour cock (drain valve) has been left open, in which case you will have to close it before you can fill the system. Look arond the house for a pipe coming through the wall, with water coming out while you try and fill it. Was it empty when you moved in? Might be worth getting someone to have a look at it. I used to rent a house that had one that kept loosing pressure and it needed a new part and leaked and it was loosing pressure coz it was leaking. with mine it takes about 10 seconds and theyre is a gauge and it shows it going up.
