combi boiler

Have a combi boiler which worked fine with about 1.5 bar of water pressure. Some how the water pressure has been lost and now reads 0 bar. How do I increase the water pressure.

  5. Combi Boiler Water Pressure Issues?

We recently had a combi boiler installed in our rented property. Initially the plumbers left the cold water feed from the tank in the loft so the combi boiler was only supplying the hot water. Unfortunately due to the differing pressures (i think), the cold water feed was excessive whilst using the shower the overflow pipe from the loft rained from the side of the house. The plumbers have since rectified that problem by removing the cold water tank and using the boiler to supply both the hot and cold. Unforunately the water pressure is now so low that it takes 30 mins to fill the bath. Also the shower now operates too hot and eventually (after a few mins) runs cold then hot again. Any help would be appreciated....

  • Rodney Blackman says:

Underneath the boiler is a little tap turn it slowly till the gauge reads the correct pressure

  • Aliza Morton says:

theres a valve underneath which you turn, you can see the pressure rise, but dont go above 2 bar

  • Cassie Bowden says:

    depends on type u have.
mine has 2 taps/levers on pipes just below.
i have to open both till pressure builds up then close them!!!

  • Cannon Lloyd says:

You should have a plastic key which when inserted into location under boiler turn anti clockwise 90degrees then open valve next to it until gauge reads 1. 0 and shut off. REMOVE KEY.Loss of pressure is normal.Read manual

  • Maryjane Prior says:

under the boiler should be an open space look up into it and you should see two little taps like the ones that connect your washer to the pipes, open them both at the same time and It will repressurize you heating system. They should be coloured blue.

  • Maeve Mcdougall says:

Normally, you will find a little tap valve under the boiler, this comes from the mains cold water. There may be some kind of braided flexi hose attached to this, for filling the heating system. Turn this tap valve gently till the pressure rises back to 1 1/2 bar.

If the pressure has dropped, there may be a problem(leak) with the heating system, or the boiler itself.

Keep a close eye on it.
