Dwellings have different types of central warming

There are various kinds of Central Heating Systems that can be purchased in the market. A central heating boiler, radiator and pipework are common components in many of these Central Heating Systems, they are simple in plumbing terms.

People in the United Kingdom, Europe and some parts of Russia, hardly need an air conditioner because of the low average temperature. Many of us find proper heating a necessity; as a result most of the new homes being constructed today are built with a Gas Central Heating System.

With wintertime coming up round the corner heating should be at the front of your mind. Only then you can relax and feel cosy inside your home. Your Gas Central Heating System needs to be reliable. A good central heating system should inspire confidence, give value for money and be simple to operate.

There are two main types of Central Heating Systems; pumped/vented and sealed systems.

The most commonly used systems are pumped/vented Gas Central Heating systems. A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System includes components known as a feed and expansion tank to allow for the expansion of water as it is heated in the radiators. Hot water from the storage tank supplies your kitchen and bath while also heating up the heating radiators. When the water expands as it is heated the expansion tank allows for this. The tank is placed in the highest place, normally the loft area. It not only heats the house, but also supplies hot water.

A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System is what most homes probably have, especially those built many years earlier.

A central heating boiler system that is somewhat newer and more modern and that most people are choosing nowadays over the pumped/vented Central Heating system is the sealed system. No water tanks are needed with the sealed system. This unvented system eliminates water tanks and loft plumbing, thus giving a number of advantages.

- There is no risk of pipes freezing in the attic as with older systems.

- loft space is freed up and pipe maintenance is reduced.

- The risk of leakage is cut as there are fewer pipes and the system is less complex.

- Reduced risk of airlocks, corrosion and sludge as there isn’t a chance of air being drawn down into the system through open vents as the system is sealed.

- The main water pressure can easily be used to flush out a Sealed system for easy upkeep.

A sealed Gas Central Heating System is a system with the required controls and safety equipment all contained in one. The mains water supplies the water required for the sealed Gas Central Heating system. It feeds directly from the main water supply.

The system also has a pressure vessel which contains compressed gas, it controls the variations in pressure and a diaphragm is used to separate it from the sealed system. Pressure buildup in a Sealed system can be relieved by a safety valve which drains out water; and pressure drop is compensated by automatic fresh intake of water via another valve.

Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your home warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. Their ease of operation and versatility is much better than other types of heating.
