gas boiler

are gas boiler is in the kitchen….the electric in the kitchen is cut off for some reason. I was wondering does the gas boiler need electricity to start it to get the hot water because at the minute there is only cold water?

  1. Should we start looking for an alternative energy source in this decade?

If so, what do you think is the best source of alternative energy?...

  • Nikolas Carruthers says:

many gas heaters need a spark to light. some with pilot light do not, if you have no hot water it is a good bet that yours needs electricity to light.

check your breaker box if you are an adult, for a switch that is in a different direction than the rest. if you find one, unplug some appliances in your kitchen and switch breaker back on.

  • Devyn Chesterman says:

it may or may not as said in prior answer. the bad news is the circulator pump on the boiler will require electricity to pump the hot water throughout your system, so you will need electricity anyway.

  • Cheyanne Ashworth says:

The circulating pump and the thermostat need electricity. Sometimes the igniter needs electricity also.
