combi pressure

I have a worcester HE Combi plus boiler – ZWBR 11-40 R 40. After bleeding the radiators, the bar pressure is now at zero! I can’t seem to find the valve to top up the system. Will be booking a service in the new year but don’t want an expensive call out in the meantime! Also, should I have bled the system with the pump on or off? I’m so cold!!

  1. Why does my combi boiler pressure shoot up to 3bar?

I have a Baxi combi boiler (installed just over a year ago) and it has ran fine (opperating around 1.5-2bar) up until the 1 year warranty ran out (sods law!). Now when the system is off the pressure goes right down to 0bar. When I turn the heating on it goes up to 3bar. I have checked for leaks and bends/blocks in the flexi pipes (which there aren’t any) and also bled the system. When I turn the heating on (from 0bar pressure) the boiler makes cluncking sounds. Anyone have any ideas before I fork out a tonne for the plumbers? Thanks...

  2. Combi Boiler Water Pressure Issues?

We recently had a combi boiler installed in our rented property. Initially the plumbers left the cold water feed from the tank in the loft so the combi boiler was only supplying the hot water. Unfortunately due to the differing pressures (i think), the cold water feed was excessive whilst using the shower the overflow pipe from the loft rained from the side of the house. The plumbers have since rectified that problem by removing the cold water tank and using the boiler to supply both the hot and cold. Unforunately the water pressure is now so low that it takes 30 mins to fill the bath. Also the shower now operates too hot and eventually (after a few mins) runs cold then hot again. Any help would be appreciated....

  3. Combi boiler pressure drops below 0 overnight and rises over 3 when on?

I’ve got a pretty new Heatline Vizo Condensing Combi Boiler. Everything was fine for the first couple of months and pressure held steady at 1.5 when cold, and rose to around 2 when the heating was on. Over the past few weeks, the water pressure drops below 0 turning the boiler off regularly. I can refill to 1.5 before going to bed, and it will be back below 0 in the morning. When I refill to 1.5 and have the heating on, the boiler pressure now rises to the maximum of 3. When the heating turns off, the pressure will drop again, eventually to below 0 within the space of maybe 8 or 9 hours. Whats going on? I cant find any obvious leaks (although the plumbing is underfloor), and there is no air in any of the rads. Ive drained and refilled the entire system a couple of times, but this has made no difference.… Read the rest...

  4. My combi boiler pressure has gone down below 1bar, no C/H but hot water. How can i build up d pressure?

Vaillant Turbomax 824E. Want to refill with water and build up the pressure. Any advice please?...

  5. Why does my combi boiler keeps losing pressure?

my combi boiler works fine at heating my water and filling radiators but every couple of weeks the pressure gauge goes down to 0 and i have to fill it up again. I can’t find leaks on the radiators ( also i live in an upstairs flat so i would have the women downstairs knocking if i did). I must admit i haven’t had the thing serviced for some time. also how much roughly does it cost to service a combi boiler?...

there must be a tap to refill pressure, my old one had a key aswell, that you pushed up a slot under the boiler. Look for a small tap, could even be on supply pipe into boiler.
If u have emergency cover on ur house insurance, they will usually pay for a call out.
    good luck

you should have a white key for refilling the system. the bottom grill should pull off and there should be a hole for the key to fit in. Press the key up and turn clockwise at the same time. It should start to fill up. Turn the key back and it should stop filling and you can take the key out.

The system should bleed up ok with the pump on, but I would normally say turn pump off to bleed a system just in case of pipework issues. This boiler does not have an integral filling link as described previously (and wrongly), there will be a braided silver coloured (or a blue one) flexi connecting tube between the return pipe (the pipe on the right under the boiler), and the cold water inlet, (the one next to it), there will either be a tap on one or both ends, or one will have a screw type centre, open the taps (or turn the screw), you will hear water going into the system, when it shows 1 bar on the gauge turn it/them off again. Good luck.
